Rev. Clyde M. Wray, Jr., age 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, went Home to be with The Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born on September 30, 1931, to Clyde Mack Wray and Parry Esther Joyce Wray in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and had proudly served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman.
Rev. Wray was known for being a kind and gentle soul and loved his wife and family. He served at Murray Hill Presbyterian for twenty-two years before being named Pastor Emeritus.
After he retired, Rev. Wray served as pulpit supply at Mayport Presbyterian Church for eleven years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Spangler; brother, Graham; sisters, Pauline and Evelyn; grandson Joel Wray Spangler. Survivors include his wife of nearly 72 years, Mary Jo Walker Wray; daughter, Donna Lynn Wray; 5 grandchildren, Amy Jo Kyles, Joseph Todd Spangler, John Franklin Edwards, Dennis James Edwards, and Rebekah Louise Burroughs; along with 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at St. Johns Presbyterian Church, 4275 Herschel Street, Jacksonville, Florida with The Doctor Reverend John Lovelady officiating.
