It was a very long night but there is really no change. She has102 fever
and 60/42 bp but her heart is still strong enough to sustain her for now.
Her lungs have fluid and they had to suction her once. The nurses didn't
think she'd make it thru the night, but she has. Everyone is pretty
emotionally and physically drained but we all know that God is not ready
for her just yet. Keep praying. I'll let you know if anything changes.

As you all know, Karen has been fighting cancer since she was diagnosed on
March 17 of this year. What started in her breast spread to her bones
(shoulder, hip, knee) and her back.
This past Friday, she slipped off of the toilet and broke her hip. After
getting her to the hospital, admitted, labs and in a room, it was
discovered that her calcium level was quite high and they would not be able
to do surgery until that was addressed.
Because she was also acting disoriented, they performed an MRI on her
brain, and discovered that the cancer has spread to that area also now. It
is also at the base of her lungs.
Her kids (Dee, Bryan and Heather) prayed long and hard and decided that
since there was not anything they could do to get their mom back to a
living, functional state, they have moved her to Hospice, where she can be
as pain-free and comfortable as possible during this stage.
Please keep the family in your prayers. I will let you all know of any
changes.
