My GGG grandmother Susan Phoebe Johnson was born 1876 in Surry County to John H Johnson and Rachel Kidd. This photo was taken in 1908 in Surry County. My GGG grandparents James Albert Marion and Susan Phoebe Johnson Marion Married 1894 and had 8 Children including my GG grandfather Posey Rains Marion. Only 6 of their Children are pictured in this Photograph.   !Was farmer all his life. When his father died the family moved to Airport road in Franklin Community. They lived on Jess Dunbar's farm and worked as share-croppers; living on half of what they raised. This according to his sister greataunt Rosa Cliffton. Rosa was two years old when their daddy James Marion died. Earnest was known to "love to drink" especially at tobacco selling time. Died of pulmonary embolus and cornary thrombosis, but had bad chirrosis of the liver. !Marriage: Have License, issued 9 Jan 1920, were married at home of Justice of Peace W. J. Evans in Rockford Township, Surry Co. NC. on 11 Jan 1920. !Death: Have certificate, it is on file in Forsyth Count registrar of deeds. !Burial: Pine Hill Friends Church, Surry Co. NC
