ASHEBORO - Lonnie Marion, 92, of 601 Peachtree St., Asheboro, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Browers Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Rodney Purcell officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Surry County and was retired from Yates Country Ham.
Surviving are wife, Thelma Stanley Marion of the home; daughters, Dorothy Cooper, Nancy Swaney, Martha Abernethy, all of Asheboro, Thelma Johnson of Columbia, S.C.; sons, Bobby Marion of McKinney, Texas, David Marion, Charles Marion, both of Asheboro; sister, Daisy Wilkins of Boonville; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.
