It appears to me, according to the 1840 Census of William Cockerham of Owsley Co. KY, that there was an unidentified female born between 1825 and 1830. The Elisabeth in the above enumeration fits the profile. Since this unidentified female is the only female in that family group, it is not unlikely that this female would be named after her mother. In keeping with that all her children were born in Owsley Co. KY and a marriage from the Cockerham family from Mary Polly Cockerham to a Thomas A. Fulks, it is not hard to imagine that marriage produced a son, Thomas. Therefore, as of this date, untill I get further contradicting information, I am going to consider these to be the facts, a marriage between first cousins. Corbet Cochran Jr. 11/5/97.
