A Celebration of Life for Nancy Lynn Marshall Reu, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, 1301 Mill Street, Camden, SC 29020. Rev. Roy Butler will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Community Ministries or St. Timothy?s Lutheran Church, Camden.

Nancy Lynn Marshall Reu left this life on May 9, 2022, after a four-year battle with dementia. Born in Alexandria, VA, Nancy was the only child of Aubrey ?Mike? Marshall and Erma Marshall. She graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA, and attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and where she obtained her M.R.S. degree, marrying Georgia Tech graduate Mike Reu.

Nancy was active in the Lutheran Church wherever she lived as her husband?s job with DuPont brought them to Camden, SC, then to Wilmington, DE, and back to Camden, where they have lived since 1965. She taught Sunday School at St. Timothy?s Lutheran Church, served on the Alter Guild, and was a devoted member of the Women?s Circle. She helped organize Christian Community Ministries in Camden as well as CCM?s Second Look thrift store. She volunteered at Second Look every Saturday as long as she was able. Nancy served as president of the Camden Middle School Parent Teacher Association, served on the board of the Friends of the Kershaw County Library, and was an avid participant in the Sunnyhill Garden Club for many years. She especially enjoyed creating floral arrangements. An accomplished seamstress, Nancy made many of her own clothes and those of her daughter, Susan. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to two bridge clubs, and she spent many years researching her family?s genealogy, attending genealogy conferences and visiting archives and cemeteries in several states.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Michael C. Reu, daughter Susan Reu of Camden, son Marshall Reu (Alice Ann) of Columbia, SC, grandson Tucker Reu (Amber) of Simpsonville, SC, granddaughter Aubrey Reu of Charlotte, NC, brother-in-law Norman Reu (Clara) of St. Simons Is., GA, niece Caroline Rolader of Atlanta, GA, and nephews Chris Johnston (Cindy) of Huntsville, AL, Sam Johnston (Tonya) of Shady Dale, GA, and Mike Johnston (Beth) of Social Circle, GA. She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Erma Marshall of Augusta, GA, sister-in-law Elizabeth Johnston (Bill) of Conyers, GA, and nephew Norman Reu of St. Simons Is., GA.

Nancy put up with Mike for 66+ years, mostly on the strength of being the absolutely nicest person he has ever known.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Amedisys Hospice and exceptional caregivers Josie Cantey and Mary Harris for their heartfelt assistance.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
