Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Momma died peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds hospice home here in Winston Salem. Momma was so very special to so many, including the hospice nurses that got to know Momma since November 14th. Momma had no pain and wanted no treatment or major drugs for her pancreatic cancer and I believe this allowed her to have a more natural, peaceful death. The care and attention we all received from hospice will allow my sister Meredith and I to have a peace and contentment that will carry us through the rest of our lives. Momma will be buried today at God's acre in Old Salem in the women's section just a few rows from my sister Ellie. Sincerely Amanda Marshall Adams Momma's obit is available at the Salem Funeral Home's website: http://www.salemfh.com/obitsList.aspx

I received a phone call Wednesday from Nancy Foster, daughter of Johnsie and Odell Craver and sister to Betty Adams. As most of you already know, Betty has had health problems for some years and on occasion has managed to come to the Reunions. Nancy informed me that Betty was diagnosed last week with having a pancreatic tumor, this after her daughter Mandy had noticed her mothers skin with a yellowish discoloration and rushed her to the doctor. Due to her age, etc., Betty decided not to have surgury and the doctor gave her approximately two months. As you may recall, her oldest daughter Elizabeth ( Ellie) lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in August 2005.

If those of you receiving this e-mail will notify other family members who you know do not have e-mail of this very unfortunate event, I know the family would greatly appreciate it. Betty has weathered a lot over the years and has always been upbeat and cheerful. Living alone for many years and with her health problems, she has been a real inspiration to witness.

I will forward other information as I hear it. Thank you, Sonny Marshall
