David,
Amazing! This is so fascinating. I knew little to nothing about the
Rush side of my family. My grandfather was an older man when he had my
father and passed away when I was only eight. The short time he was in
my life he was beloved. His brother E.B. (Elijah Baxter) lived in our
town but was tragically murdered in a home invasion when I was just a
toddler. I never got to meet any of my Rush Great-Aunts as they lived
elsewhere and we were in Oklahoma. Great to know I have some long lost
family out there! As far as I know my father is the last male Rush
from that line. I currently live in Montréal Quebec Canada but of
course grew up in Oklahoma. I've only just started researching the
Rush family and your information has been such a wealth! Really I
can't thank you enough. Here are some dates I have for my branch:
William Henry Rush: May 29th 1910 Death: Aug 1st 1986
Nola Carmel "Joan" Rush: Nov 15th 1920
Linda Rush-Thomas: Dec 10th 1942
Stevan Michael Rush: Apr 25th 1951:
Then there's me, I'm Courtney Rush-Woo Nov 16th 1977 married to Albert
Jun Woo and we have a daughter Lillian Lien Yee Woo Dec 17th 2004.
Please pass my hellos to your wife, my second cousin! :) I've attached
a couple of pictures of myself and my family and one of my
grandparents when they were a similar age.
Again, thank you so much!
Courtney

I was having a hard time finding any information about my family. I
plugged my great-Grandmother's name into Google and your site was the
only one that came up. Surprisingly enough the information was a
match, I had found my great-Grandmother's information. Thank you so
much! This is my family
http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dwmsr42/dat52.htm#7 My
grandfather was William Henry Rush. I just wanted to clarify some
information here
http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dwmsr42/dat75.htm#3 William's
wife (my grandmother) was not named Carmen but her name is Nola
Carmel. Their children are my father, Steven Michael Rush and my aunt
Linda Carol Rush-Thomas.
Now, if I'm reading the information correctly, all of the families
featured on your site are all somehow related to a Marshall family?
Thank you so much for your work,
Courtney Rush-Woo

All of the information I have about her and her family is from her. No better documentation is needed, but I also have her mother's Bible with Gladys' birth date in it. (David W. Marshall, Sr.)
Document in the unnumbered documents folder: Rush, Berenice - Bible
Gladys suffered from cancer that had spread to the bones, lungs, liver, and other areas of her body. Her daughter-in-law, Cathy, was with her on Friday morning when her breathing suddenly changed. Cathy called the other family members immediately. Gladys had already passed away before Betsy, Theresa, Theresa's children, and I could reach the hospital. She was in Baptist Medical Center when she died. The one blessing was that she did not linger. She died within two weeks from the time we admitted her to the hospital. She was cremated and her remains interred beside her husband in the mausoleum at Greenlawn Cemetery. [DWM-4/27/2001]
