Thanks for the quick reply.
Here is how I am connected (also with a twist as you will see).
Preston Marshall m. Alice Hendrake
Robert Marshall, Sr. m. Susannah Dodd
William Marshall m. 2nd wife Lucy ?
Elijah Marshall m. Martha Ann ?
Samuel Marshall m. Abby Amissittie Semones
Sarah Marshall (out of wedlock) - James C. Carper, Jr.
J.C. Marshall m. Leonita Ann Tillotson
David Wade Marshall, Sr. m. Ruth Ann Bixby
4 kids
J.C. Marshall was raised by his great uncle William Shack (and Lillie Marshall) who was Samuel Marshall's brother.
I still visit the original log cabin site on 130 acres purchased by William Marshall in 1850 on Sysnes Creek in Patrick County. Elijah's grave is also on this site (heavily wooded) with a marker. I have researched land records and remarkably the land is still in the Marshall family to this day (the Packs).
Regards,
David
