Notes |
- !Marshall 0007, Pg. 7 - "The Heritage of Surry County, North Carolina; Volumn I - 1983. Editor Hester Bartlett Jackson.
! Two other sons of Frederick went to South Carolina where they married Indian Maidens. They went with the indians on the enforced trek to Oklahoma and there changed the surname from Alberty to West. One of their children married a Rogers and from them descended Will Rogers. This information is recorded in the book listed above. It is from Mrs. Turner, a librarian in Shackleford County, Texas.
!Marion 0003 - According to this source, the statement above, which came from
the "Surry County, N. C. Book" is not exactly true. Will Rogers is connected
by marriage. This source lists his Revolutionary War Pension records as the
basis for the information about his birth and death.
