I forgot to mention. I will send the photos to you once I talk to Aunt Gayle, who is still living. Ill see what I have too. She has a picture of Victor in his dress military uniform. Victor and Howard were both born in Richmond. They never lived in Mt Airy. The family moved here after Ralph, my grandfather, was born. Great Grandfather Robert Marion Monroe Wray was buried at Riverview Cemetery originally but was moved to south Richmond, Maury Cemetery later. My grandfather Ralph had him moved. I have a picture of Ralph at the graveside of hs father in 1925 at Riverview. He was 15. My dad and the others that lived here are there too.The bulk of them lived in south Richmond and their descendants still do. I am the odd ball. :)
Hope to hear back soon and will get those photos to you as soon as possible.
Mike

David,
I spoke with my Aunt Gayle Wray Orange last week. She confirmed that the picture was in mid fifties, probably after Luther's funeral. She confirmed the order was Clyde, Earl, Russell, Ralph, Howard and Victor. She said Uncle Luther had a stroke in the 40's and passed in 1955.
I am attaching a scanned copy of a enlarged photo that was hanging over my grandfathers (Ralph) mantle of his father, Robert Marion Monroe Wray, during the Spanish American War. My Aunt Gayle has a copy of his discharge papers. I think Myrtle had the original. I have the large version of the photo attached now hanging in my living room. I didn?t see it on your page so I thought you might like to have it. I will also get with Gayle as soon as I can to get scanned copy of Victor in the military uniform photo. I'll send more photos as I can get them scanned. I'll keep in touch.

David,
I looked at some genealogy information my father was working on back in 2002 before he passed. Here is what he had:
Wray, Clyde Mack(b. September 29, 1892, d. August 1974)
Wray, Earl Dean(b. November 27, 1895, d. February 1966)
Wray, Russell C.(b. July 10, 1899, d. May 5, 1978)
Wray, Luther L.(b. November 23, 1901, d. May 19, 1955)
Wray, Robert B.(b. May 30, 1903, d. October 17, 1904) Howard's son and grandson were named Robert
Wray, Myrtle I.(b. August 18, 1905, d. ?) she was alive and the only survivor when my grandfather passed in 1993 and at the funeral
Wray, Hazel Aileen(b. March 21, 1908, d. November 29, 1986)
Wray, Ralph George(b. January 6, 1910, d. January 3, 1993)
Wray, Howard Monroe(b. December 2, 1913, d. August 12, 1979)
Wray, Victor Carlin(b. April 16, 1916, d. March 23, 1985)
The picture I have at the reunion was 1968, it has the five surviving brothers. Clyde (your grandfather), Russell, Ralph, Howard and Victor. Evidently your grandfather Clyde and Earl stayed when their parents went to Richmond around 1912 being they were grown. Russell, Luther and Ralph, being they were children, and the girls went to Richmond. As mentioned before, Howard and Victor were born in Richmond. I haven?t had a chance to scan reunion photo yet but will send when I get a chance.
Hope this helps,
Mike

David, I am the son of Ralph G. Wray whose father was Robert Marion Monroe Wray. I have been struggling with Dad's side of the family myself. I believe you sent my daughter, Karen (Wray) Grady a 3.5" floppy diskette several years ago with information on Robert including the text from some of Nancy's letters to his army superiors before he was sent to Cuba in the Spanish-American War. If you go to "Gene's Home Page" and my family tree maker homepage URL's below, you will find everything I have learned to date about the Wray side of my family. Also, there is a photo of Robert Marion Monroe Wray on a horse when he was in the service.
My Dad, Ralph George Wray, died on January 3, 1993, three days before his 83rd birthday. All of his siblings have passed away except Myrtle Wray Mckeithan his sister who is approximately 94 or 95 years old. Aunt Myrtle lives with her daughter Katherine Mckeithan Fenton in Alexandria, Virginia.
I visited your home page and I am very impressed.
