William Walker Tuggle m. Hannah Sharp
John Morris Tuggle b. 1818 Pittsylvania Co, VA, d. 5/24, 1904 in Russell Co, VA m. Martha Annabell McGahee Dec 14, 1847 in Stokes Co NC, Martha b. 1830 Patrick Co. Va d. May 7, 1882 Russell Co Va. Parents Harmon McGahee II, Leannah Ayers.
Harriett Tuggle b. approx 1857, VA m. John P. Martin in about 1875. John P.
dies and Harriet marries 2nd husband William Hess in 1884.
2nd son John Morris (Mourse) Martin born 1878 or 79 in Russell Co VA, died
1954 Morrow Co., Oh m. Willa Mae 10/14/1909 in Russell Co., VA. Willa Mae,
daughter of Alice Cox. Not sure if Cox was maiden name or first husband's
name. One granddaughter thought Willa Mae's last name was Cox, another
thought it was Whited (but, Alice's 2nd husband was a Whited - James we
think, but not confirmed - and their marriage date was after Willa was
born).
One of Willa's daughters, my grandmother, told me her mother's last
name was Dye - and we know there is a Dye in there somewhere - but no one
else had ever heard of that as her name. To confuse it even more, while in
the nursing home, she told a granddaughter that her father was named Merl
Hagy and was of Spanish descent but there is absolutely no record of him
anywhere. There were a ton of Whited kids and we're trying to track them
down but no luck yet. The bible she kept was either taken/lost by a son, or
destroyed in a house fire. We can't be sure.
Willa and John had 5 children, between 1910 and 1932. She was my great
grandmother. One of her daughters married into the Keller family. I'm a
Keller.
I've only been at this a short time and haven't loaded anything into files
but tell me which parts you'd be interested in and I'll share what I have.

As I have been working on this part time I haven't gotten all the info but am working on it. John Morris Martin, b. in 1979 (?) he is not listed in the 1880 census with Harriet or his brother Patten Henry Martin b 1876. John P Martin (Harriett's husband) is living with his mother Sarah and listed as married. (Russell Co Va.) the spelling is Marton instead of Martin. John P's brothers Reese, James and Samuel are also with her. Her husband seem to be missing. Unknown if he is dead or not, she is listed as head of household.
John P died around 1884 or before, can't seem to find where or when for sure. Harriet remarried to William Hess 1884 and is listed as a widow.
Anyway, I have no idea of John Morris' birth date for sure. He was several years older than Willa Mae. He Died Dec. 6, 1953 and is buried in South Bloomfield Cemetery, Morrow Co. Oh.
The Martin's were from Germany and from Kentucky prior to moving to Va. According to a cousin from Henry's side of the family. Willa Mae Cox. Is the daughter of William Hagy (Hagey) and Martha A Cox. (not married). Born Dec 16, 1895. Belfast Va. Martha married James Whited in 1897. Lived on Clinch MT. Va. Willa went by Whited, unknown that he ever adopted her. In the 1900 census they listed her as a son William M Whited 5 yrs old. Go figure.
She and John Martin married 1909 Oct 14. Willa d Oct 1, 1985 Knox Co Oh buried w/ John at S B cemetery. (She remarried, Robert Lester in the 1960"s but divorced and never went back to the name Martin.)

Lela married a Van Sickle. and Divorced after two daughters.
Maxine married Chester Keller (cousin of my mother). 2 daughters and I'm not sure of the son's 3, I think.
Fred married Ethel unknown and had one son Daniel. Fred left them for California never to be seen or heard from again.
Harry married Elizabeth still living,
(Lenard) Morris married Lois still living, 3 daughters 1 son, divorced married Judy still living 1 son and 1 daughter.
I have some more info but not at hand at this moment. Will send as I get into the papers. (Just completed my daughters wedding and this house is a total disaster area.)
