    • Hi
I've been working with the file that you so graciously sent me and several other sources and have some questions that I hope you don't mind I ask. The answers may actually add to our data.

      1. Reference a Genform posting on the Venable Family Genealogy Forum by Jessica Jennings of 03/30/2000. She lists William Venable m. Ursuly East and 12 children.

      a. She lists George, b. 1806/7 m. Katherine Venable. You list George Forkner (not a last name of Venable) m. Katherine Unknown. Do you know which is correct?

      b. She also lists Drury Venable, b. 1808 m. Chancy Fry. You do not have a wife for Drury but do list 6 children. Do you think that Chancy is his wife?

      2. Reference an Ancestry.com file upload by "KYBorn" that starts with William Venable m. Margaret Unknown, and has John, William and Rebecca as their children. The only branch of these three that the remainder of the file includes is the children of John and Mary Curry.

      a. The birth dates for all of John and Mary's children differ from yours. I've checked a few of yours against "The Stones of Surry County" and other places and your file is consistent with these sources, making this upload suspect. Anyway, KYBorn lists "Sally" as a child and I presume that this could be our "Sarah", but the birth dates don't match. KYBorn has her birth at 1789 and you have her birth at 3/12/1795. KYBorn indicates that Sally married Jonathan Unthank. You do not have a spouse for her. If this is our Sally, then there are many more generations after her that we can add to the family. What do you think?

Hope your new year is wonderful!
