37001 wolfersberger, Johannes - Memorial - In the unnumbered documents folder - This is a picture of the memorial stone dedicated to JOHANNES WOLFERSBERGER and ANNA MARGARETHA ENSMINGER WOLFERSBERGER. It is located in the Lutheran Cemetery, Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania, Memorial Day 27 May 1996. The stone has a list of their children on it which does not agree completely with the other documentation I have about this family. 37020 Wray 0008 - I have a letter in her hand writing that gives her husband's birth and death dates, also her birth date. She is buried in Midkiff Cemetery (Find-A-Grave Memorial # 96276340)in Mount Airy. I was a Pallbearer for this funeral.
It was the day after a very bad snow storm so that they could not actually take her to the cemetery until at least later in the afternoon or even on a later date. The weather had cleared that day so I drove to Mount Airy from Columbia, S.C. to attend the funeral. The weather threatened to turn bad again the next day so I drove home right after the service in the funeral home.

Parry worked in a textile mill in Mt. Airy.

Hello Randy, These are on my mother's maternal side - not even sure if the Vass is correct. In something saw a Terry - found some old letters that my mother had made copies of - am going to try to find those and take them to Staples and make copies this morning - have a cousin that said he would drive me. One is dated 1863 - one 1865 - starts out my dearest daughter and can make out they had another daughter. So I guess that is a second wife ???? Have you tried David Marshall's website? The only guy I can remember at the reunion might have been Mike Marshall - had an email from him several days ago - they have sold their house and have to be out by the 12th of this month - they are building a new house - doubt he would be much help right now. His email address is: mmarshall13@triad.rr.com
David's is: David@marshallgenalogy.org he lives somewhere is SC.

I went on google chrome. Found some info on them - some of it checks out with what I have some does not
make sense to me.

Go to FINDAGRAVE - check out Joseph William Marshall buried at Walkertown Baptist.

Need to start searching for the letters. Will check back later - when/if I find the letters and get them enlarged so I can read them.

1. John Richardson was the first descendant we have documented. He was living in Christiansburg, Grayson County, Virginia, when he died, before 1800. It is believed that he first married (1) Mary Easterwood. They amassed a plantation of some 250 acres and a mansion house. It is by this Mary that his children are believed to have been born.

John's will was dated August 5, 1797, and read:

"I, John Richardson, of the County of Grayson and the state of Virginia, being very low and weak of body, but of sound mind that is appointed for all men to die, I do make and ordain this my last will and testament.

First, I commit my soul to God and my body to the earth to be decently buried., and as touching such worldly as has pleased God to bless me with, I devise and bequeath unto my dear and beloved wife, Mary Richardson, all that part of my land that lies north of a branch that empties into Bobbets Creek and the Ford where Wards Gap crosses it. With all my personal estate, my Mansion House and plantation and all its appurtenances during her natural life or widowhood and in case she should marry, I wish that the whole shall be equally divided between her and my children when they arrive at age by law to heir their part.

I also give and bequeath to my friend and neighbor William Betts all residue of my land laying south of the aforesaid Branch containing 41 acres be it more or less for cash to me paid to him and his heirs forever. And I make and appoint my well beloved friend and neighbor John Paxton sole executor of this my last will and testaments in witness whereof I hereby set hand and seal this 5th day of August in the year of 1797.

John Richardson"

It is thought that the first wife must have died and John Richardson married (2) Mary Terrel on October 20, 1782, at Campbell County, VA.

It is also surmised that the widow, Mary (Terrel) Richardson married Reuben Paxton on August 13, 1799, in Montgomery County, VA, after the death of her husband.
