    Greetings David -

    I am reaching out to see if you could help me obtain more information on an ancestor of mine who has been a challenge. In particular I am interested in the ancestry of Mahlon Bennett. I believe Mahlon was born in 1772 and died in 1848, both events in Brooklyn. He married Elizabeth Hackstaff, b. 03 May 1788 in Sing Sing, Westchester County, NY and died on 23 Dec 1858, probably in Brooklyn. They are my 4th great grandparents. They had a daughter named Clara Ann Bennett who married Nathaniel Ferris Waring.

    I see your postings for the Marshall and Allied Families and wondered if you have any more information on Mahlon Bennett and his ancestors. I believe he was a charter member of the Masons, affiliated with the Lotus Lodge. That is pretty much all I know of him.

    My relation from Mahlon and Elizabeth Hackstaff Bennett is

    !He was a captain in the Rovolutionary war.
    !My source for the Waring family was Ruth Waring. Much of the original data
    came from the back of a picture that she had writtem the family genealogy on.
    She also had other things I consider reliable such as a "Birthday Book" that
    Bill Waring's aunt Mary gave to him when he was a child. Mary had written
    birth and death dates of many of the Waring's in that book. Ruth Waring
    still had the book in 1993. [DWM]

    Henry married Hannah FERRIS. Hannah died in 1827. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
