    Hello David,

Here is some of the information that I have to give you about my
    grandfather's family.

Luther Pink Martin - Birth 13 Aug. 1872
    death 30 Aug. 1928
Parents Samuel Alexander Martin - birth 16 Mar. 1848
    death 2 Mar. 1909
    Sarah Valisha Marion b. 17 June 1848
    d. 17 May 1906
Marriage date was 15 Sept. 1870

Luther married Tennessee C. Poindexter 9 Jan. 1895

Children of Luther and Tennessee (Tenny)

    Glenn Luther Martin - b. 26 Sept. 1896
    d. 21 Jan 1969
Married Maggie Lee Myers 6 Sept. 1913 I think they had 4 children. Mable,
Dolly, Clarence can't remember the other name but will send if I locate it.

Just to give you a little background on the family. After my grandmother
Tenny died of cancer when my mother was a baby, Luther moved the family from
East Bend, NC to Omaha, NE. That was in about 1915 when my mother was around
4 years old. Glenn was already married and stayed behind in NC. My mother
only saw him one more time when she was about 8 years old and he came to
Omaha for a visit. The Omaha cousins never knew the North Carolina cousins.

    Mattie Volish Martin - b. Aug 1897
    d. 3 Apr 1898

    Wayne McKeever Martin - b.19 Jan 1900
    d. 1960 Buried at Westlawn-Hillcrest
    Cem. in Omaha

John Gaither Martin (went by Gaither) b. 13 May 1903
    d. 1960 Buried at
    Westlawn also

Wayne and Gaither never married and lived together (at least when they were
    older)
They died about 2 weeks apart.

    DeEtte Bessie Martin b. 22 Feb 1905
    d. 1 June 1987 Buried at Westlawn
married Eugene McFarland 5 Sept 1923

Aunt DeEtte and Uncle Mac never had children. She was like a little mother
to the family after her mother died and was more like a grandmother to her
nieces and nephews than an aunt.

    Velma Tennessee Martin - b. 23 Dec 1906
    d. 1988
Married Edgar Parker Morton and they had one son, Richard.

    Estelle Margaret Martin - b. 9 Dec. 1908
    d. 1968
    married to Stanley Anderson (Shinny)

Estelle had one child by a previous marriage Virginia Joan Hoffman.
Uncle Shinny and Aunt Estelle had 3 children Stanley, Shirley and William.

    Edith Katherine Martin - b. 2 Jan 1911
    d. 9 May 1989
married James Andrew Babb 19 Sept 1929
James (Jimmy) was born 17 Oct. 1907
    died 28 Mar 1989
They had 5 children Robert Walter, Barbara Louise, William LeRoy, Gerald
    Arthur and Patricia Ann.

Luther worked for a buggy shop in East Bend and when work became slow he
moved to Omaha and worked in an automobile shop. I have a picture of him in
    front of the shop.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Pat
