Graham's wife, Edith, called me on June 3, 2002 to tell me about his death. He fell and broke his leg Friday night. He went through surgery, but did not recover well. He continued to decline until Sunday morning at 9:00 when he died. He is buried in Midkiff cemetery. I attended the funeral. (David W. Marshall, Sr.)

Charles called and said Edith's funeral is Monday at West Side Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, visitation at 1:00 and funeral at 2:00. He will send the obituary when it is available.

Obituary

Mrs. Edith Marie Poff Wray, age 94, of Mount Airy, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Wray was born in McDowell County, West Virginia on July 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Garland Prentiss Poff and Minnie Senter Poff. She retired from Spencers Knitwear after twenty-two years of dedicated service and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Survivors include her three daughters, Rosalie McMillian of Martinsville, VA, Rhonda Humphries of Mt. Airy, and Reva Arnder of Reidsville; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Pauline Wray Crabtree; a special brother-in-law, Clyde and Mary Jo Wray; and several cousins and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wray was preceded in death her husband of sixty-two years, Robert ?Graham? Wray, Sr., daughters, Renee Combs and by an infant daughter, Evelyn Ramona Wray; a son Robert Wray, Jr.; and a grandson, Randy Combs. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Steve Johnson, the Rev. Larry Stone, and Charles Crabtree, with burial in the Midkiff Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at the church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and to her special caregivers, Kenny and Mary Swift.
