My great-grandfather was Armstead King, the older brother of John and my Great-grandmother, his wife, was Charity Venable, sister of Louisa Venable King. I wondered what happened to John & Louisa after 1870. I thought maybe the had followed Charity to Indiana where their twin brothers, Jesse & Augustus had gone. charity went there sometime after 1864 following the death of Armstead in the Civil War. she remarried in 1867. I have a lot of information the the Venable family. Do you know what may have become of Squire Venable, younger brother of Louisa and Charity? The last anyone can seem to find is when he was living in Carroll County with his mother and step-father. The Stafford line enters in when Laura, my grandmother and daughter of Armstead and Charity married my grandfather, Olive Stafford in Indiana Oliver's father was Levi Stafford, son of Robertson & Hannah Johnson Stafford from Kernersville, Forsythe County North Carolina. I am attaching my file on John King and Louisa. I am also attaching my file on Floyd Henry Quesenberry. Floyd was my ggrandfather. I had not completely looked at your surname indes when I first wrote. But I find that I cross with the Alexanders, Kings, Quesenberry's, Richardsons.
My ggrandfather William Jackson Richardson married Charlotte V. Alexander sister to Emily Alexander who first (My report is incorrect in that Emily married Floyd first then Susie Browder) Floyd Quesenberry. Blanche Quesenberry my grandmother daughter of Floyd and Susie married Hobert Richardson son of William and Orillie King. (I think I'm my own grandma).
The King line also crosses a lot with the Smith family. I noticed you had a lot of Smith's but have not studied it yet to see if there is any connection. To of John C King's daughters married Smith men.
Hope you can make heads or tales out of my file. Afraid I put a lot of information into my notes to keep up with it.
    Take care

    Pat,

Thanks very much for the message. You made a connection for me that I didn know about before. I have Nebraska King's parents in my database, but did not have her as one of their children. Her parents came from one source and she came from a completely different source.

Jobe Sparger (or Job as I have him) is my second cousin, twice removed. If you would like to send your line to John And Louisa I would be pleased to add it to my database.

One trick I use to make out hard to read names is to use a good magnifying glass. It is surprising how many times I have been able to make out something that way that I could not read without it.

Thank you again for the message. I look forward to hearing from you again soon. May I add you to my email distribution list? I don't send out very many messages to the list, but I do occasionally send out something I think everyone might like to read. I have about 200 "cousins" in the list.

Found your website and thought I had hit the jackpot.
You are researching so many of the same lines that I am.
Jobe W. Sparger married Nebraska King also a daughter of Louise Jane Venable and John C. King. They also had another daughter Arillie King who married my great grandfather William Richardson. Nebraska and Arillie were born in Pulaski County Va .
I know that one of Louisa Jane's children went to Indiana because on the 1910 carroll county Va. census two grandchildren both male are living with them. I cannot make out the names would love to know who they belonged too.
    Any information appreciated.
    Thanks
    Pat

    Take care

    Pat Bell

    Thanks
    Pat

I live in Jackson Michigan. Kathy Stafford Baird.
