Have referred to your site often as I enter a new phase of my "old" life genealogy. You at least provided me with an easy way to start and it has been a great leisure time activity.

Regarding the "descendants of Thomas Marshall, Ill" my family falls into place under #561 Susan R. Marshall. She and my gggrandfather, George Washington Donovant (or any great variant you have of spelling Donavant) were parents to a number of children including my ggrandmother,

Minnie Donovant (b. March 7,1869, d. February 5,1950). Minnie remained in the Henry County, Virginia area marrying Thomas Burley Merriman(son of Lorenzo D. Merriman and Nancy J. Bouldin). Thomas was born August 27, 1876, died August 19, 1935.

If you wish to expand with the above family members and their children, I will be happy to snail mail to you that which I have researched. Have made contact with Susan Marshall's brother, William Logan Marshall's family, and brother, John Warrior Marshall's family. I applaud you for the excellent site you have. One question! Did the reunion of 1999 take place and was it a success?

For many years James Doug;as Marshall was thought to be the son of James Marshall and Milly Hensley. However, his birth date makes this highly unlikely. I have removed him as their son, but keep him in the database in case someone finds more information to identify where he fits in the family. - David W. Marshall, Sr. 7/18/2018.

James married Susannah WEAVER on 22 May 1820 in Henry County, Virginia. Susannah was born on 12 Jan 1790; died on 30 Jun 1883 in Henry County, Virginia; was buried in Jul 1883 in Henry County, Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
