According to what my mother told me, Uncle Earle was a professional boxer and traveled around the U.S.A. to boxing matches. He came to Winston Salem, N.C. and met my Aunt Opal. He was originally from Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, but after his marriage they resided in N.C. until my Aunt Opal's death. After which he took Irene and Celia Faye to his parents home in Mt. Pleasant and for years we completely lost touch with them. My brother Warren "Bud" kept searching for them and located our cousin Irene in New London, Iowa some time in 1970's.
Earl married Mary Opal HAWKS in 1921 in , Forsyth County, North Carolina. Mary (daughter of Jefferson Davis HAWKS and Louisa D. MCCRAW) was born on 25 Nov 1897 in Lambsburg, Carroll County, Virginia; died on 25 Jul 1931 in Mount Airy, Surry County, North Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
