5. | Alma (Pat) PATTERSON was born on 17 Feb 1892 in Mississippi; died on 4 Jun 1980 in Irving, Dallas County, Indiana; was buried in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Notes:
!Died while living with Bill Ted Colglazier there at Irving, TX. Buried in Ashland Cemetery.
Injured/burned in fire at their home which caused death of Uncle Ted there in
Oklahoma.
Per Juanita Colglazier, 9/21/91, the following information was learned:
Aunt Pat had no middle name.
She was born in Mississippi not in Indian Territory of Oklahoma as
originally thought.
She was not of Indian descent.
At age 8-9 years came to Oklahoma in the Oklahoma Land Rush. Her
Grandfather claimed the land with covered wagon and livestock.
Came to the Asland, OK area where they settled.
Her father and mother are also buried in Ashland Cemetery. Her father
was a banker in Ashland, OK and repaid all the indebtedness back during
the depression after the bank failed. No one having accounts in the bank
lost their money.
Pat had a brother, Zelton Patterson, who died about same age and way her son
John Warren Colglazier died.
John Warren Colglazier died after he fell playing, hit solar plexis -
stomach. Regressed to a child, never knew what was actually wrong with
him. Uncle Ted and Aunt Pat took him all over, even to Mayo Clinic, to
try and learn what his problem was but never found the answer. He had
always been a sickly child all his life.
Juanita intimated that maybe this ran in the family, hereditary so to
speak. Said Zorus was not suffering from Alzheimer's Disease but spells
or seizures where he didn't know what was going on. Said Aunt Pat suffered
from this same thing just before she died when she was living with Bill Ted
and Juanita. Thought maybe John Warren Colglazier and possibly Aunt Pat's
brother may have also had this same problem.

!A GEDCOM file from James Robertson - Buried in Crown Hill Cemetery. (Jan. 3, 1998 - DWM)
CHWCI(pp. 628, 701-703.):
"Many substantial buildings in Salem and throughout Washington
and neighboring counties bear evidence to the painstaking care which John M.
Colglazier, a well-known building contractor, of Salem, gives to constructive
work entrusted to him. For many years Mr. Colglazier has been one of the
leading contractors in this part of the state and has, therefore, had much to
do with the substantial character of the upbuilding of this community.
"John M. Colglazier was reared a farmer and was educated in the district
schools of his home neighborhood and in Mays Academy at Salem. In his
youth he learned the carpenter trade from his father and all his life has
been actively engaged in building operations in this county, at the same time
carrying on extensive farming operations. Mr. Colglazier remained on the
home farm until his marriage in 1887, after which he bought a farm adjoining
that of his father and there lived until 1906, in which year he moved
to Salem for the better convenience of his contracting business. There he
bought a planing-mill, a valuable addition to his building operations, and is
still profitably operating the same. In addition to the numerous prominent
residences that Mr. Colglazier has erected in Salem and throughout the
county, he has done considerable work in the way of public buildings, the
woodwork in the Salem high school, the I.O.O.F. hall at Hardensburg and
several substantial warehouses being among the structures which bear the
impress of his handiwork.
"Mr. and Mrs. Colglazier are members of the Christian church at Salem
and take a proper part in the various beneficences of the church, being
interested in all movements looking to community betterment, and they and
their children are highly esteemed by their many friends. Mr. Colglazier
has propered and is counted among the most substantial citizens of Washington
county. He is a Republican and for years has been actively interested
in the political affairs of the county, having served for two terms as
chairman of the Republican county central committee. He is an alert, energetic
and enterprising business man and enjoys the full confidence and the
utmost regard of his business associates and the community in general."
I remember that he had several fingers partially missing do to carpentry
accidents.
