In the 1840 censes of Kemper County, Mississippi, the four children were living in the house of Charles's and Elizabeth's son, William Henry (another brother of Thomas)

There were three marriages for a James Marshall in Albermarle County, Virginia.
However, it is generally believed that this was his wife. In the 1850 Stokes
County, North Carolina census, a Milly Marshall is listed as age 70, living
with her son, William. The children listed for James and Milly are surmized
from various sources; nothing is proved. DWM - 1990
