  1. 10.  James H. HENLEY was born about 1826 in Stokes County, North Carolina; died in 1866 in Missouri.

    Notes:

!CHILDREN: According to Martha J. Vanhoy Henley's obituary in 1990, they had
ten children. From census records, etc. I have only found seven. Probably
the three missing died very young or at birth.

!DEATH OF JAMES H. HENLEY (1826-1866) - apparently just after the Civil War, and
I can find no record of him being a soldier, he was killed by bushwhackers. He
would have been a northern sympathizer. He was supposed to have been hidden
out away from home, and his son or sons went down the middle of a creek to take
him food, and found him dead. He had sold all his land in Jasper Co., MO and
had recently purchased some land in Henry Co. MO so he probably died in Henry
Co., MO - but I am not sure.
