    bible and has everything transcribed. Unfortunately, Franklin's first name is
    not clear, but it looks like "Tiry." It is definitely "T?ry." The following
    note (exactly as written) comes from the family bible:
    "June the 3. 1864 - T F Marion went to the war as a calverman an serv to the
    end of the war he sirv ten monts he was to have thirty one dollars on oath an
    never got nary dollar".
