Read this before viewing the chart below.

The chart below was done in Excel, so I had to make a major concession with Excel to make it work. The concession is that I had to use year zero (0) for Adam's birth year rather than 3941 BC that is recorded in my genealogy database. The reason for that is really quite simple; Excel doesn't work with dates in the BC range. It cannot calculate them or plot them on a chart, at least as far as I know. If someone can tell me how to do that I would be pleased to change the chart to reflect the true dates.

The chart was done as a HI-LO chart the same as you would do with daily stock market data. The low number is the birth year and the high number is the year of death. If you scan across the chart you will see some very interesting things. For example, Adam was still alive when his 6th great grandson, Lamech was born. In fact he almost lived to see Noah born. Another interesting fact is that when the Great Flood occurred, Methuselah had been dead less that a year.

I will not debate with you whether or not the Great Flood is myth or fact. As with everything else on this web site I am presenting to you exactly what I see in the Bible, along with several other interpretive sources. It is entirely up to you whether you trust the Bible or not. If you wish to discuss the issues with me I invite you to join me in a four year Disciple Bible Study.
